Albert Mobley Jr. was born on August 17, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Albert Sr. and Catherine Ann Mobley. He was raised with his older sister, Janet, and younger sister, Sally, in a home filled with love, faith, and devotion to God and family.

Albert graduated from Garfield High School and continued his education at Central State University, where he excelled in football. Following college, he proudly served his country in the military before beginning his professional career with Goodyear and B.F. Goodrich.

Albert had a lifelong love of sports, particularly bowling and tennis. His passion for these activities led him to teach and encourage others, sharing his enthusiasm and skill. He was a faithful member and deacon of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, where he served with joy and dedication.

Even in his later years, Albert remained active-cutting grass, tending to his yard, and working as a parking lot attendant and funeral home assistant. He was known for his warm personality, enthusiasm, and his genuine love for people and life.

Albert passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved aunts and uncles, Lugenia and John McClarin, Novia and Howard Clark, and Hilbert and Marie Mobley; first wife, Lorain Likely; cousin, Burton Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Richard Lash; and brother-in-law, Major Simmons.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Edith Mobley; children, Albert III (Cindy) Mobley and Gigi Mobley; stepchildren, John (Denise) King, Judy King, Charlotte King (special caregiver), Sherri (Michael) Ridgill, and Teresa (Andre') Blaylock; sister, Sally Simmons; grandchildren, Albert IV Mobley, Christopher Mobley, Damon Frazier, LaAngel (Darryl) Hudson, Troy King, Meko (Aarrion) McWain, Marlow Hill, Brandon King, Darsean (D Ajah) King, Domonick Ridgill, Jamie Blaylock, Nia Wemmer, and Jayla Blaylock; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of other relatives and cherished friends.

Albert's life was a testimony of faith, love, and service. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

I am sorry to hear of Al's passing. He was my first supervisor at BF Goodrich Back in 1974. I hit it off with Al right from the start, he was one of the nicest people I ever have met in my life, he never changed from the first time I met him till the last time I saw him. We were Neighbors and occasionally visited each other and he was always upbeat and happy, the kind of person you want in your life for a friend. The world has lost a wonderful man.

It was a great day when me and Al senior's paths crossed and discovered we were related and even greater when a person I had seen at many social event, Al jr. was his son. We got to know each other and more so at a family reunion held in Milledgeville,GA. Although it has been a while since we had seen each other I will miss him...Louis
