Albert "Pudgy" Perreault Obituary
Hubbell: Albert "Pudgy" Perreault, 78, passed away on November 10, 2023.
He was born on June 12, 1945 and raised in Lake Linden. He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1963. Pudgy was a stellar athlete in football and track. He worked for Calumet & Hecla as a miner for 5 years until it closed in 1968. At that time, he attended Northern Michigan University and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Water & Wastewater Technology in 1970. He worked for Portage Lake Water and Sewer Authority for 40 years, retiring in 2010.
Ever civic-minded, he served on the Torch Lake Area Sewage Authority for 28 years and the Hubbell Fire Department for 36 years.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball. He also enjoyed camping with friends, cutting firewood and spending time talking to people. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Colleen; a daughter, Lorie, and husband, Shawn Len; grandson, Matthew; estranged daughter, Mary (Thomas) Becia and family; brothers, Clarence (Marlene) and Gerald (Nancy); brothers-in-law, Michael (Donna) Fountaine, Stephen (Sharon) Fountaine, Jim (Kristin) Fountaine, John Fountaine, and estranged brother-in-law, Tim Fountaine; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pudgy was preceded in death by his son, David; father, Clarence; mother, Irma; stepfather, Homer Kus; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Catherine and Gordon Fountaine; and brother-in-law, Dennis.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private service at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden at a later date. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is assisting with arrangements.
A sincere thank you to Canal View Woodland Haven for taking such good care of Colleen.
