In Loving Memory of Deacon Albert R. Salinas
With heavy hearts but unwavering faith, we announce the passing of our beloved Deacon Albert Salinas who was called home to be with the Lord on January 9th, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on April 1st, 1944. Deacon Albert Salinas dedicated his life to serving God and his Family. Reflecting the love and grace of Jesus Christ in all that he did.
Deacon Albert Salinas answered the call to the ministry with humility and devotion, serving faithfully in the parish of Our Lady of San Juan De Los Lagos for 40 years. His deep love for Christ was evident in every aspect of his life, from his tireless work in the church to his quiet acts of kindness and compassion within the community. Whether he was assisting in worship, offering counsel, or visiting the sick, Deacon Albert Salinas demonstrated the true spirit of service as a faithful servant of God. He exemplified the qualities of a righteous leader, guided by prayer, Scripture, and a heart devoted to Christ's mission. His legacy will endure in the hearts of those whose lives he touched, and his example of faith and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. While we grieve his passing, we take comfort in the assurance that Deacon Albert Salinas is now in the presence of our Lord, where there is no more sorrow, pain, or death.
Deacon Albert Salinas served in the United States Navy. He fell in love and married his high school sweetheart whom they recently shared 60 years of marriage, he worked as a machinist to support his lovely family. He was a proud and devoted leader of the Cursillo Movement Community. The Cursillo was an important part of his faith journey where then, he answered God's call to the diaconate, entering Deacon formation and becoming a Deacon with unwavering faith and dedication. In his commitment to both spiritual and professional growth, he pursued further theological and healthcare studies, attending college to enhance his service to the Church and his ministry to the community, followed by serving as a Chaplain for several Healthcare Agencies. Where he also introduced many fellow Deacons to follow his path as a Chaplain. He was Blessed to make two pilgrimages to Rome, where he had the privilege of attending Mass at St. Peter's Basilica with Pope John Paul II. He was further Blessed and honored to be in the presence of the Holy Father when he visited
San Antonio, Texas. Alongside his wife, Isabel Salinas, he traveled to various parts of the world, embracing new experiences and deepening his faith. In his leisure time, he cherished fishing trips with his family, creating lasting memories in the company of his loved ones.
Deacon Albert Salinas leaves behind a legacy of faith, humility, and devotion to the church and his family. He is loved and will be dearly missed tremendously by his wife Isabel R. Salinas, his children; Daughter-Isabel S. Martinez, Son-Andrew R. Salinas, Son-Albert Salinas Jr. and daughter in law Lisa Salinas. 5 Grandchildren; Gabriel S. Martinez, Ariel Salinas, Joshua Salinas, Albert Mathew Salinas and Lisamarie Salinas. Siblings: Leo Ramirez, Vangie Gonzalez, and Richard Salinas. His memory will live on in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. We ask for continued prayers for his soul, and that God's peace and comfort be with all who mourn his loss.
