Alberta June (Rogers) Arnett, age 86, passed away on February 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Alberta was born May 24, 1938, in Bloomington, Indiana. She was the daughter of Joseph Rogers and Sylvia (Lucas) Chastain.
Alberta was married to her husband, Robert Austin Arnett, for 54 years, before his passing. Alberta and Robert had 7 children and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.Alberta enjoyed spending time surrounded by family. She was the "glue" of the family, hosting multiple holidays and events and she loved cooking for the family.
Alberta worked and retired from RCA, where she spent 30+ years. Alberta volunteered multiple years to Clothe a Child, helping organize events, receiving donations, and providing children in need with clothing items.
Alberta was known for her kindness and generosity. She has been a rock for countless family members and friends. She was a remarkable wife, mother, sister, Mimi, and friend. Alberta truly loved to spoil and brag about her grandchildren, she loved to be around them. Alberta had multiple "kids" she claimed and loved as her own. Alberta also had a onry side, from her silly jokes, to her "special" cakes, and her butt pinches. She was truly a gift to be around and a woman of many talents. Alberta did not know a stranger. She loved to tell stories and talk about her life and family. She made friends wherever she would go.
Alberta enjoyed everything cowboy. She loved Roy Rogers, Gunsmoke, and multiple other westerns. In her younger years, Alberta was an avid roller skater, she even traveled to compete. Alberta shared a love of guns, and had her own collection. Alberta enjoyed the Indianapolis Pacers, especially Reggie Miller. Alberta had many collections including clocks, plants, and dogs.
Alberta loved spending time with her girl friends, Rose Staggs and Sandy Shell. She has several special memories with them.
Albert was proceeded in death by her parents (Joseph Rogers and Sylvia Chastain), her husband (Robert Arnett), her son (William Arnett), her daughter (Cathy Dixon), her siblings ( Susie Dick, James R. Rogers, and Lois Imogene Rogers),
Alberta was survived by her daughter and care giver (Bobbie Murphy), her sons (Robert Arnett and David Arnett), her daughters ( Mary Kay Arnett and Lydia Arnett), her siblings ( Meredith Rogers, Linda Avery, Rebecca Arther), and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Aberta will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37 Bloomington at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in the Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will also be held Thursday March 6, 2025 form 11:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory.
