Alberta Harris Caston, age 72, entered into eternal rest at St. Margaret’s Nursing Home on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was a native of Utica, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Alberta was a graduate of Hinds County Agricultural High School and was a former warehouse worker. Beloved partner of 31 years to David Abadie. Devoted mother of Angela Caston-Williams, Tonya Casto Audu, Marcia Caston Burton, Johnnie Caston, Jr. and the late Ashley Caston. Daughter of the late Joseph Harris, and Willie Bell-Byther. Granddaughter of the late Willie and Sally Byther. Loving sister of Joe Nathan Harris, Arthur Lee Harris, Jamel Earl Harris, L. J. Haris, Henry Ray Harris, Bessie Lee Harris, Lois Jean Harris, and the late Leroy Harris, Willie Mae Harris, Roberta Craft, and Selestine Harris Brown. Alberta is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Progressive Church, 437 Cohen Street, Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
