Alberta LaVon Endres

Alberta Lavon Endres, age 95, of Black River Falls, WI, passed away on December 9, 2023 at the Pine View Care.
Alberta was born on December 28, 1927 in Prairie du Chien, WI to LaVina (Larson) and Albert Hagen. Her growing up years were in Viroqua, WI. She shared many stories of being a beloved only child to parents who loved her dearly. Both of her parents had numerous siblings that ensured Alberta had many cousins to enrich her life for all of her almost 96 years. Minneapolis was Alberta's home for over forty years. Writing letters to her was fun because Minnehaha Avenue was an address that seemed exotic to put on the envelope. Alberta married young and was divorced from Billy Endres
in 1964. She remained unattached until the 1990's when she met Gordon Harris. When Gordon and Albert retired, they decided moving in with each other was a good idea. They both liked to take driving vacations and the location they opted on for a new home was Black River Falls. It was on a major interstate and the area was full of Alberta's relatives. While traveling and in Black River Falls both Alberta and Gordon made friends. They were interesting people and enjoyed hearing and telling stories. We lost Gordon in 2018. It was a tough adjustment for Alberta and then Covid happened. Alberta thrived on seeing people, playing cards or slots, and having pets. It became too much to live in assisted care and scoop a litter box. Pine View Care Center was her final destination.
Interment will be at Northfield Lutheran Church, Northfield, WI on Saturday August 9th, 2024. Probably 10 or 10:30. Coffee and lunch to follow at the family reunion. The annual Larson Family Reunion is always on the second Saturday of August at noon. This year is will be held at the Lunda Community Park Pavilion, 1400 Tyler St., Black River Falls, WI. That date was selected to also celebrate our grandpa Theodore Larson's birthday.
