Mary Alberta Bowman Moreau, a resident of Yellow Bayou, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. She was 80 years old.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, beginning at 2:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church of Simmesport, with Father Paul Kunnumpuram officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Alberta, as she was known to her family and friends, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She had a profound love of fishing and was passionately devoted to her Bingo games. Her warm spirit and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Moreau, Sr.; daughter, Lisa Moreau; parents, Anderson Paul Bowman, Sr. and Lola Mae Rachal Bowman; siblings, Geneva LaPrairie, Clyde Bowman, Newman Bowman, Huey Bowman, Leon Bowman, John Bowman, Sr., and Anderson "Dackie" Paul Bowman, Jr.
She is survived by her devoted children, Melinda Moreau of Yellow Bayou and Wiley, Jr. and his wife Wendy Moreau of Plaucheville; her sister, Irma Wisenbaker of Baker; and her brother, Clint Bonnette. Alberta was the proud grandmother of Jennifer Desselle (Beau) and Ashton Moreau, and the adoring great-grandmother of Coraline and Willow Desselle.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, Wiley Moreau, Jr., Ashton Moreau, Todd Moreau, Sr., Todd Moreau, Jr, Gustavo Chen, Steve Johnson, and Beau Desselle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, beginning at 8:00 am until 1:45 pm in Escude’ Funeral Home of Simmesport.
