Alberta Joan Rogo, age 83, of Laceyville, PA passed away at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, on Tuesday afternoon, January 7, 2026.
Alberta was born on September 12, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the daughter of late Lela Loveland Cunningham (d. July 9, 2000) and her stepfather, Lester Cunningham. (d. June 3, 1992). Growing up, Alberta lived in the Noxen area.
Throughout her life, Alberta worked at the Black Walnut Dress Factory and at Cargill. In recent years, she loved collecting blown glass, some of which she made herself. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read and work on puzzles. Alberta also truly loved raising and caring for her cats, which she had many of over the years.
Alberta is survived by her husband, Frank Rogo; her children and their spouses, Larry Traver, Jerry and Ruthann Traver, Noreen Lynch, Tracy and Susan Traver, Zabrina Valentine (Duane Spencer); her grandchildren, Ryan, Kristin, Nikki, Kyle, Jerri, Ally, Mindy, Alisha, Samatha, Lester and Danica; her nineteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Hazel StClair.
Besides her parents, Alberta is preceded in death by her brother Raymond (Sickie) Sickler. (d. March 23, 2017)
A Celebration of Life Visitation for Alberta will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Sheldon Funeral Homes, 459 Main St, Laceyville, PA 18623. A memorial service will be held at the later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Alberta’s name to the Meshoppen Cat Rescue 9833 US-6, Meshoppen, PA 18630.
