Alberta Waltman, 78 of Vancleave, MS passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025 in Vancleave.
She was born on September 8, 1946, in Biloxi, MS to Phileman “Moogie” Waltman and Sophie E. Ladnier Waltman. She grew up in Ocean Springs with her 12 brothers and sisters. She worked hard to provide for her children. She loved to fish, sew, garden and play horseshoes.
Alberta is preceded in death by her father, Phileman “Moogie” Waltman; Mother, Sophie E. Ladnier Waltman; Children, Steven Ely and Donald Ely; Siblings, June Peabody, twins, Nola St. Amant and Roland Waltman.
She is survived by her children, Scott Ely (Laurie), Darrin Ely (Raina), Brian Ely, Dayna Ely (Jeff Clark); Siblings, Her twin, Albert Waltman, Henry Waltman, Rayford Waltman, Henrietta Carroll, Marie Bienvenue (Elton), Mary Fergonise, Carol Schrieber (Bobby), Sue Arguelles, and Betty Haygood; and 17 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Vancleave, MS on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
