Alberta Jean Weaver (Jean)
Date Of Birth: 05/29/1935
Date of Death: 10/05/2024
The youngest of nine siblings, Alberta Jean Weaver (Jean) was born to Matilda and Frank Sauer on May 29th, 1935 in Ellis Kansas.
Wife to Lewis James Weaver (Lew), Jean and Lew bore and raised five children. Living in a number of cities throughout their marriage, Jean and Lew eventually settled in Portland Oregon. While primarily a homemaker, Jean was a recognized seamstress/tailor, prodigious at crochet, and eventually took employment in garment-related industries. A loving mother, Catholic, avid reader and lover of music, Jean is best remembered for her strong and vibrant personality, beautiful and warm smile, lovely alto singing voice, creativity, and her neverending impact to all who she encountered. Jean was always ready to engage with anyone and everyone she met. She was enthusiastic, joyful, funny, clever, and warm in her interactions with others, giving and bringing to them a sense of personalization, familiarity and connection in conversation, however brief the interaction. Jean always shared of herself and made others feel "seen" and welcome – that was her gift.
Alberta Jean Weaver is survived by her three remaining children, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, forty-six nieces and nephews, and their children.
It was Jean's wish that no memorial service be held, and no donations are requested. We will each remember Jean, both with great sorrow at her passing, and with great love, in our own way, in our hearts and in our memories.
