Albertina (Enxuto) Cardoso, 86, of Old Lyme, formerly of Hartford, died peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife for 64 years of the late Joao Tomas Cardoso. Born in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, Albertina came to Hartford in 1974. Prior to her retirement she worked at Aetna Insurance Company. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Albertina took pride and passion in helping care for her grandchildren when they were young. Her joys in life included spending summers in Portugal with her family and in her pastime, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and cooking her specialty Portuguese dishes.
Albertina is survived by her three children, George Cardoso and wife Julia, Jose Cardoso and wife Roxanne, and Maria Signorello and husband Dino; her grandchildren, Jessica and wife Suzanne, Paul and fiancée Jenna, Kimberly and fiancé John, Marcello and wife Alexandra, and Johnpaolo and fiancée Brooke; her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Roman, Luca and Mila. They will all miss her very much!
Albertina is also survived by her brother, Joaquim Enxuto of Portugal; her sister, Connie Nunes of Rocky Hill; and many nieces and nephews, whom she adored very much. She was pre-deceased by her other siblings, Florinda Enxuto, Helena Alves, Gestrudes Enxuto and Felipe Enxuto.
Calling hours will be Thursday, (July 3), from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane Street, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
