Maryjane Boggini Atkins, affectionately known as MJ, moved to a rhythm entirely her own. An explorer of worlds seen and unseen, and an adventurer in both soul and soil, she lived only by the call of her deepest truth. She had a profoundly curious mind, eyes that saw your soul, and a heart that held anyone who crossed her path. She passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, leaving an immeasurable legacy of creativity and kindness.

Born in Hartford, on October 28, 1943, to the late Nino Charles and Sophie Boggini, Maryjane grew up in Manchester alongside her late brother, Charles Boggini, amidst the workings of her family's business, the Charles Boggini Company, founded by her Italian immigrant father.

A lifelong student of the human condition, she graduated from the University of Connecticut and earned her Masters of Education in Counseling from Springfield College. Her calling to nurture the human spirit blossomed into a 50-year career as a therapist, during which she was both a healer in private practice and a trusted consultant for major corporations. She specialized in bringing light to life's most difficult moments: conflict resolution, grief, and loss. Her own journey through grief inspired her to write "The Power of Grieving," a book that has guided countless souls through the darkness of loss and toward the light of healing. A fierce champion for women and equal rights, her compassion knew no bounds, extending to every living creature. Maryjane was the quintessential multi-hyphenate creative, pursuing every passion that awoke her senses. She loved yoga and Qigong, expressed herself through writing and art, and found joy in the process of blending and creating scents and oils.

Her light will carry on in those who loved her most: her husband, Hank Atkins; her daughter, Jess Teutonico; her beloved grandson, Luca Teutonico; and a constellation of amazing lifelong friends, cousins, nephews, nieces, and cherished family in the US and Italy.

For those who knew and loved her - keep talking to her. There is no doubt she is still, as ever, intently and thoughtfully listening.

The family will hold a private celebration of life. Those who wish to celebrate her life please consider making a donation to www.womenforwomen.org. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
