Saint Albans - Albin D. Voegele, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025. Al was an active member of the St. Albans community since 1977.

Al was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 31, 1940. He was the son of the late Albin B. and Violet (Ardleigh) Voegele.

He served in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War as a Counter Intelligence Officer in Germany. Al served as the Town Manager in the communities of St. Albans and Colchester. He also served on the Vermont State Board of Education, as Director of the Vermont Business Round Table, Director of the Lake Champlain Housing Trust, and Director of Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was also on numerous Town and State boards. Al gave his best self to St. Albans.

Survivors include his daughter Rebecca Voegele, his brother Richard Voegele, his niece, Tara Webster and her family (George Murphy, Eamon Murphy, Eadoin Murphy, and Eagan Murphy), and his best friend of 83 years, Russell Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Albin and Violet, Al was predeceased by his wife, Roberta Jean Voegele, and his sister, Gail Voegele Webster.

Al's family would like to especially thank everyone at the St. Albans Town Hall. Special thanks to AJ and Meghan.

A Celebration of Al's Life will be announced at a later date.
