Alec Koutsopoulos

Alec A. Koutsopoulos, 23, of Vermilion, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021.He was born November 19, 1997 in Elyria and had been a life long Vermilion resident.Alec graduated from Vermilion Ehove Career Center with certifications in EMT and Firefighting. He had worked as an EMT for North Central, Sandusky while also working with the Vermilion Twp. and Perkins Township Fire Departments. For the past year and a half, Alec worked for Miller Pipeline, Parma as a laborer.Alec enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and camping with friends. He also loved animals and spending time with his family and friends. To his friends: "The brotherhood that he forged with his friends will last forever." He will be remembered as a hard worker who was loyal, kindhearted, and loved by everyone he met.He is survived by his parents, Tony and Shelley (nee Haslage) Koutsopoulos of Vermilion; brother, Garrett Koutsopoulos of Vermilion; paternal grandparents, Linda and Bill Fox of Oberlin; best friend, Ben Harrison; Uncle Mike (Karyn) Haslage of Lorain; Uncle John (Kim) Koutsopoulos of Elyria; Aunt Athena (Bob) Logan of Elyria; and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Koutsopoulos; maternal grandmother, Bee Haslage; maternal grandfather, John Haslage; and his Aunt Kristy Simone.The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a Celebration of Life service at 5:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing.
