Alex Campbell Obituary

Alex (Al) Russ Campbell of Prior Lake, formerly of Rosemount, died of ALS on December 15, 2023.
Al was born on Friday, November 13, 1959 and grew up in Waukegan, IL. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He graduated from Bradley University with a degree in accounting and a future with the love of his life, Mindy. They married in 1983, moved to MN where Al started his career as a CPA.
Al was passionate about giving back to the community. Al was an active member of Ss. Martha and Mary, serving as junior and senior warden, highway clean-up coordinator, greeter, usher, and a twenty-year member of the vestry. As a numbers guy, he spent numerous years as the church treasurer, as well as a member of the finance committee; he volunteered with Prepare and Prosper helping people with their tax returns. He was his daughters' softball coach, a Girl Scout cookie dad, a platelet donor, and gave his time and energy to many other organizations.
Al is survived by his "girls", wife Mindy, daughters Megan, Hannah (Hunter), Betsy (Marc), Abby, and granddaughter Maxine. As well as his brother Kevin (Gillian), sister-in-laws Kathie and Jeanne, 13 nieces and nephews, and many cousins, including his favorites, Rick and Jane.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the ALS Association, Ss. Martha and Mary Episcopal Church, or CAP Agency of Scott & Dakota County.
A service celebrating his life will be held, Thursday, Dec 28th at 4pm at Ss. Martha and Mary's Episcopal Church, 4180 Lexington Ave S, Eagan, MN 55123.
