Alexa Leone Peterson, age 15, of Osceola, WI, passed away unexpectedly in an ATV accident on October 11th, 2025, doing what she loved-spending time at her family farm with her family and best friend Savanna.
Born on April 16, 2010, in Stillwater MN, Alexa came into the world with fire and spice, earning the nickname "The Hornet" from her Papa Cottor. From the very beginning, she was a spark. She grew into a young woman known for her beautiful smile that could light up a room and her "Kristin Cottor giggle" that brought laughter wherever she went. Her trademark eye roll and famous phrase, "That's dumb," were part of her charm-telltale signs of a girl who didn't fake how she felt and lived life with honesty and heart.
Alexa loved the simple joys-quiet spaces, her Monsters and Arizona Ice Teas, comfy sweatshirts and Hey Dudes, and favorite snacks like pickle roll-ups and potato soup. She had recently discovered a passion for fishing, adding it to her lifelong love of the outdoors, the cabin, and the farm-places where she felt free and at peace.
She valued her family and friends deeply. If you got past her tough outer shell, you found warmth, loyalty, and a heart that loved big. Her sweet hugs and genuine spirit left lasting imprints on everyone who knew her.
Alexa will be remembered for her long blonde hair, her quick wit, and that unmistakable brightness that made her, simply, Alexa.
She is survived by her parents, Ryan and Kristin (Cottor) Peterson; her siblings, Sydney and Riley; grandparents, Dennis and Jan Cottor, Dennis Peterson, and Dena Worman; aunts and uncles, Dan and Kelly Meyer (with Maddie and Morgan), Jason Cottor and Kelli Gary, Darren and Jenny Peterson (with Garrett and Sawyer), and Robin Peterson; and many friends and extended family who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Preceded in death by great grandparents, Ray and Regina Cottor, Howard and Doris Traiser, Marcella and Ray Englund and Philip and Irene Peterson.
Alexa's courageous honesty, love of the outdoors, and laughter will continue to echo among all who loved her-proving that the brightest lights, though sometimes brief, shine the most. She loved sunrises and sunsets, those quiet, beautiful moments of the day that matched her spirit. Now, when the sky glows with those same colors she loved to chase, we'll know she's there-watching over us, painting the heavens with her warmth and light.
