Alexander Grant Hintz, 36 years young, entered into his heavenly home Saturday, November 18, 2023 surrounded by his family and in the loving arms of his courageous wife while at UW Health Hospital following another fierce and lionhearted battle against cancer.
Alex was born on March 9th, 1987 to Keith "Rueben" Hintz and the late Sharon Kay (Grant) Hintz.
A 2005 graduate of Antigo High School, Alex went on to pursue and receive a bachelor's degree in education from UW Stevens Point. His passion second only to his family, were his students and athletes that he both taught and coached. He loved teaching physical education and coaching various sports within the Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District.
Alex was united in marriage to Carrie Ann Robinson, the love of his life, on June 9, 2018. Their marriage was joyfully blessed with a beautiful daughter, Jacelynn Kay, on January 26, 2023. Family and friends meant the world to him. He held very near and dear to his heart his daughter and his fur kids Miss Kitty, Kevin, and Jolene.
Alex's unwavering drive and zest for life transpired with everyone he was around. Alex always went out of his way to help others even when he was not having the best day. His humor was contagious to all those around him especially when he had control of the juke box. He enjoyed being creative with art and drawing, he had a passion for music, sports of all kinds, and watching hockey with his daughter.
Alex will forever be missed and remembered by his wife Carrie, daughter Jacelynn Kay, father Keith "Reuben" (Maxine) Hintz of Deerbrook, brother Nathan (Karen) Hintz of Wausau, nephew and godson Brantley Alexander Hintz, grandmother Helen Hintz of Antigo, father-in-law Carl Robinson of Wausau, sister-in-law Sarah (Aaron) Koszarek of Elcho, nieces Ellie and Kara Koszarek. Alex is further survived and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless amazing friends.
Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon, grand-father Rueben Hintz, grandparents John and Betty Grant, mother-in-law Brenda Kay Robinson, "grandma" Pat Schmidt, and "grandpa" Harold Schmidt.
A celebration of life and visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26th at Northstar Lanes from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a moment for people to share their stories and memories of Alex starting at 6:30pm.
A memorial service will be held on Monday November 27th at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo with Reverend David Karolus and Reverend Jarod Fenske officiating. A short visitation will take place at 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alex's name may be directed to his family.
A huge thank you on behalf of the family to all of the staff and doctors at UW Health Hospital who have fought vigorously for years to comfort, heal, and treat Alex. Truly angels on earth.
"Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know."
