Alexander Walton, 85, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, on May 13, 1939, to John George Walton and Hephzibah Francis Nolan Walton. He cherished his memories of growing up in Sault Ste. Marie and held a deep love for Canada. Canada is where he met missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his brother joined shortly after. He loved the Church and became an example to all through his Christlike love.

He later attended Brigham Young University, where he earned his teaching degree and met Kenna Mae Anthon. They were married on May 18, 1962, and enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Their time was filled with vacations, sports, and caring for their seven children. In later years, they delighted in spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with serving service missions in Salt Lake City at the Church History Center. He loved serving with his wife Kenna Mae.

Alexander was a beloved teacher, remembered fondly by his students. When he became a U.S. Citizen, his class and much of the faculty were present to witness his swearing-in ceremony. He remained known as "the Canadian," even after becoming an American citizen. He taught 6th Grade for 36 years in the Davis County School District.

He enjoyed games and sports, including baseball, hockey, horseshoes, table tennis, and billiards. He coached soccer for his children and was known for his competitive nature, evidenced by a wall of trophies.

Alexander is survived by his wife, Kenna; his sons, Allen (Lorianne), Clark (Jennifer), and Chad (Lisa); his daughters, Shanna (Brad), Valerie (Wayne), Julie (Blaine), and Alenna; 26 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emily Ann Walton; his parents, John George Walton and Hephzibah Francis Nolan Walton; his brothers, George Edward Green, John Walton, and Burt MacGlashen; and his sister, Jessy Fallstrom. 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
