Verda Babe Rost, born December 10, 1933, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. Born in Wendell, Idaho, the youngest child of Albertine and Frank Rost Sr.
She was a strong woman of faith, generosity, and unconditional love. She was a true Latter-day Saint.
Growing up on the farm with cousins and farm animals for playmates fostered a great love for people and animals. From Wendell, she moved to Washington Terrace, Utah to work for the Amalgamated Sugar Company, where she lived until her passing.
Verda was a true patriot. She spent years volunteering in the Weber County Republican Party, informing voters, supporting worthy candidates, and serving in leadership positions which earned her numerous service awards. She was passionate about the cause of Liberty and about her God.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, working with music, the Young Women and the Singles. One of her favorite callings was Primary Teacher because she really LOVED children.
She never missed an opportunity to testify of God's Love. Verda would often hold someone's hand, draw them close, and tell them how meaningful they were to her, and to their Heavenly Father, and how much He loved them, whether that was to her friends, her family, or total strangers at the doctor's office. She saw and testified of the good in every person.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr. and Albertine; her brothers, Frank Jr., Wayne, and Roy; and her sister, Grace.
Verda, we miss you so, but we know others on high, rejoice saying “Verda, we missed you so”.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 7th Ward Chapel, 4855 South 300 West. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Friday, March 13th, at 1 p.m. at the Wendell Cemetery, Wendell, Idaho.
