Alexander John Whalen

Alexander John Whalen, born on July 5, 1995, at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, left us on January 17, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a brilliant and compassionate soul who embraced life with a zest that inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him. Alexander was not only an accomplished entrepreneur specializing in cryptocurrencies and investments, but he was also known for his kind heart and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.

Marking his journey with a passion for soccer, Alexander excelled as a striker, showcasing his talent on both high school and college teams. He graduated from Parkway Central High School in 2013 and continued to excel, even being rostered on the St. Louis Lions semi-professional team. His love for the sport brought cherished memories, particularly with his younger brother, Noah. Together, they forged a bond through countless afternoons spent kicking a soccer ball around, reveling in moments that were pure joy.

One of Alexander’s most memorable achievements was receiving an autograph from one of his favorite soccer players as a young boy, only to later realize his dream of playing alongside that very player—a full-circle moment that highlighted his determination and passion for the game.

Beyond his athletic prowess, Alexander's career in cryptocurrency set him apart; he was a genius at making investments work, and he was dedicated to realizing his dreams. He embodied the values of being sweet and compassionate, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His friends often spoke of his thoughtful nature and how he stood up for the underdog. He was polite, fun to be around, and someone who fostered a close-knit circle of friends he considered to be his brothers, a testament to his loyalty and deep connections with those he loved.

Alexander’s presence was deeply cherished by his loving parents, John J. (Carrie) Whalen and Dawn R. Whalen (Eric Ausubel), his brother Noah D. Whalen, and his step-brothers, Ryan Vogelgesang and Brett Ausubel. He is also survived by his beloved grandmother, Carole Sue Whalen, along with many extended family members and friends who will continue to hold his memory dear in their hearts.

His memorial gathering will take place on January 25, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, both held at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Alexander John Whalen leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and determination. His spirit will forever live on in the countless lives he touched and the memories he created, reminding us all of the beauty that comes from embracing our passions and the importance of nurturing our relationships.
