Alfonso Malaquias Moreno, 64, went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2025, passing peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved wife Catalina and children. Alfonso was born on November 3, 1961, to Emilia and German Moreno. He was raised in Chalchihuites, Zacatecas, Mexico, where he grew up helping his family in their saddle-making business. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, family, and faith - lessons that shaped the man he would become. As a young adolescent, he moved to West Texas, where he worked in many different trades before finding his place in the oilfield industry.

In 2003, Alfonso made Liberty, Texas his home. There, he began a new chapter as a truck driver, traveling across the country and seeing the beauty of God's creation along the way. Though he loved being on the road, nothing compared to the joy he felt when he was home, surrounded by his family.

Alfonso's greatest passion in life was his faith in Jesus Christ. In 1985, he trusted the Lord as his savior and Lord of his life. He loved God deeply and lived each day with gratitude, peace, and humility. His faith never wavered, even in difficult times. He served his church as he was able and lived out his beliefs quietly through kindness, patience, and love. His gentle nature and genuine smile touched the hearts of everyone he met.

He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Catalina, a proud father to Jack and Leanna, and an adoring grandfather to Jaxon, Juliana, and Emma. His family was his greatest joy, and he dedicated his life to providing for and nurturing them with all the love in his heart.

Those who knew Alfonso will remember his calm presence, his hardworking spirit, and his unshakable faith. He lived a peaceful and humble life-a true man of valor-leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength that will continue to guide and inspire his family.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Catalina Moreno; his son, Jack Moreno, and wife Lisa Johnson; his daughter, Leanna Moreno, and husband Fabian Reyes; his grandchildren, Jaxon Moreno, Juliana Reyes and Emma Reyes; his mother Emilia Moreno Hernandez; and 4 brothers, 8 sisters.

He is preceded in death by his father, German Moreno and brother Hector Moreno.

A celebration of Alfonso's life will be held on November 10, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Liberty.
