Alfred M. Fehl
Alfred M. Fehl, age 92, of Harborcreek, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024. He was born in Pittsburgh on August 16, 1932, son of the late Frederick and Mary Agnes Fehl.
Alfred was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War. He first worked for General Electric in Syracuse, NY, where he met and married his future wife of 67 years, Jane Asselstine. With GE, he then had the privilege to work on the Apollo Space Program at Cape Canaveral. Following that, Alfred and his family came to Erie and continued to work for General Electric until his retirement. He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, serving on various committees. Alfred enjoyed fishing, bowling and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and the Helping Hands Program at St. Vincent Hospital.
Alfred is survived by his sons, John, Timothy, Matthew and James (Carla); daughters, Susan Fehl and Karen Harkness (David); his seven grandchildren, Alyssa Page (Chris), Hunter Fehl (Mollee), Ella Fehl, Sofia Harkness, Luke Harkness, Jacob Harkness and Destiny Fehl; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Page, Evelyn Page, Carolyn Mae Fehl and soon to be born, Oliver Fehl; one sister, Lorraine (d. Herb) Lutton; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Fehl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jane Fehl, who passed away on November 24, 2024; his son, Mark; and his brother, Robert Fehl.
As a service to his honor, Alfred's celebration of life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church with interment to be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Faith Lutheran Church, 5414 East Lake Road, Erie, PA 16511. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
