Alfred J., 72, of Rochelle Park, NJ. On October 29, 2023.
Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Al was a graduate of Cliffside Park High School. He went on to graduate from Englewood Cliffs College, and then New Jersey City University, majoring in English. He started his career as an elementary school English teacher in North Bergen. He left teaching after two years and went on to become a Property Claims Adjuster for multiple insurance companies before retiring with Chubb in 2016. He moved to Rochelle Park in 1981, where he raised a son and was active in the community as a little league baseball coach for over 10 years. Anyone who knew Al knew what an avid Jets fan he was, convinced that every week The Jets were going to win, and that every year they were going to the Super Bowl. He was a Jets season ticket holder from 1988-2007. Two people in the world guaranteed a Jets victory in Super Bowl 3, Joe Namath, and Al Forte. He was also a 76ers and Yankees fan who idolized Mickey Mantle as a child. Al was a passionate Bob Dylan fan, going to dozens of his concerts since the early 1970's. Al also "knew" that Muhammed Ali was the greatest boxer and Wilt Chamberlain was the greatest NBA player of all time. After retirement, Al's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, Jane, and Cooper.
Al is predeceased by his parents, Alfred, and Marion Forte, as well as his sister Anna Tomei, and niece Melissa Banta. He is survived by his son Beau Forte and wife Samantha and grandchildren Jane and Cooper of West Milford, along with sister Patricia Forte of Deerfield Beach, Fl., sister Jacqueline Franzese and husband her Peter of Concord, NC, and brother in-law Ronald Tomei of Riviera Beach, FL, five nieces Lisa, Dawn, Jeanine, Lenore, Carolyn and one nephew Peter. He also leaves behind many cousins, great-nieces/nephews, and countless friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday November 11, 2023, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 S. Farview Ave. Paramus, NJ 07652.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alfred'sa memory may be made to Eva's Village 393 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07501.

I knew Alfred from Main Street in Cliffside Park we had lots of fun hanging out at the Wheeler Street park when we were young. Also hanging out at Chris´s liquor store on Palisades Avenue.
Sorry for your loss.
