ATKINS-DEATHERAGE, Alice F., age 67, of West Carrollton and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at her residence. Alice graduated from Waynesville High School in 1976 and later received medical training at Sinclair Community College. She proudly served the community as a medical assistant at Carlisle Medical for 25 years. Alice attended and regularly watched the live stream at Wellspring Baptist Church in Waynesville. Loving and caring, Alice enjoyed laughing, joking, and having fun with family and friends. She had a nurturing personality with those she cared for, especially her son, with whom she had a special bond as her only son. She greatly enjoyed crocheting, playing games on her phone, and listening to music. She was particularly fond of country music, with artists such as Lainey Wilson and The Oak Ridge Boys, most notably William Lee Golden of The Oak Ridge Boys, whom she always thought was handsome. Recently, she had become fond of TikTok videos featuring stack bracelet jewelry, where the originator slowly revealed the item as it was being created. She always looked forward to new content and designs. Growing up, Alice was always close to her parents and siblings. They enjoyed the tradition of gathering as a family for Sunday dinner, which became a fond memory of Alice's over the years. In later years, Alice enjoyed trips with her son and daughter-in-law to Alabama to visit family. In addition, it became a tradition for them to visit Gatlinburg, where they rented a cabin and enjoyed the shows and stores. Among many things, Alice will be remembered for her love of jewelry, clothes, and her dogs, Lily, Peanut, and Emmy. However, she will be remembered most for how much she cared for her son, who was her pride and joy. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Helen Crump, and one sister, Helen Gross. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kristin Atkins; grandson, Chad Kies; her sister, Mary Myers; and her brother, Loyd (Debbie) Crump. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 18, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Sean Ireland officiating the services. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
