Alice Marie Chisholm Dalton "Ike", 51 of Charlottesville, departed this life unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, September 29, 2013. She was born September 3, 1962 in Washington D.C. Alice was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and wife and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Grooms; father, David Lloyd Chisholm; step father, Ray Grooms; and a very special nephew, Kenny "Boo" Houchens. Alice is survived by her only son, best friend, and light of her life, Cody James Dalton; her husband, Peter Dalton; mother-in-law, Martha Dalton; sister, Terry Craig and her husband, Roger Craig; sister, Jeanette "Nett" Houchens and her late husband, Phillip Houchens; brother-in-law, Mike Dalton and his wife, Judy Dalton; step sister, Linda Birckhead and husband, Lee; step brother, Stanley Grooms and wife, Becky; nephew, David Thomas and wife, Monica Thomas; a very special niece, Kelly Houchens; great-nephew, Kris Thomas; and great-niece, Kacey Thomas. Alice also leaves behind her two boys, "Smokey" and "Bentley;" and many relatives and friends that aren't listed above. Alice graduated from Charlottesville High School where she was an outstanding student athlete. Alice was employed at The Inn at Willow Grove in Orange County, Virginia, where she will be greatly missed by all that knew her especially her very close friend, Michele Sigler. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Teague Funeral Home for family and friends. Services will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Teague Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. Family would like to invite all that knew Alice to a gathering at McIntire Park where she loved to watch her boys play baseball following graveside services. No words or actions will ever be able to describe how much you are loved and how you will be missed. 143 <3
