Alice Etta Harpold was born in Bloomington, TX, on August 13, 1932. She
died on February 22, 2025, at 92 years of age after living with her
daughter and son-in-law at their home in Fate, TX, for over three
years. Alice is survived by her two daughters, Cleadie Elaine Green of
Fate, TX (husband Gene) and Etta Jo Franks of Como-Pickton, TX
(husband Doug). Alice was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Adams
of Greenville, TX. He was the eldest of her three children. Gerald passed
away three years ago at the age of 70. Others who preceded Alice in
death were her Father, Edward Krause, and her Mother, Pearlee (Krause)
McWharter, her first husband, Marshall T. Adams, and her second
husband, Rex Baylor Harpold. Alice was the oldest of six sisters and two
brothers. She was a Grandmother of seven Grandchildren, and eleven
Great Grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alice worked in the cotton fields of south Texas near Victoria when she
was young. After Marshall, her first husband, died she worked between
marriages and subsequently retired from the Mesquite Independent
School District where she worked for many years in the Maintenance
Department as a janitor.
Alice greatly loved her pets, and she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and
reading. Amongst all the books she read, she especially enjoyed reading
her Bible every day as she loved the Lord. She loved hearing the
promises of God from Scripture. She also loved hearing Bible stories,
especially about Heaven, and looked forward to receiving her promised
eternal life in Heaven with her loving Lord Jesus, where she is this very
moment.
Alice was a faithful member of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite,
TX, where she attended for many years. After selling her house in
Mesquite to be closer to her family, Alice moved to Fate, TX, for her
remaining years where she attended First Baptist Church of Rockwall.
She was a faithful member of the Friendship Bible Study Class there at
FBC. She will surely be missed by all.
