Alice Marie Kallenbach was born November 5, 1933, at home in Aurora, WI. She was the daughter of the late William and Emma Broullire. She attended Kingsford schools and graduated with straight A's. Upon graduation she became a Delta Airlines stewardess and worked out of Minnesota. Her job was to assist soldiers coming and going from the Korean War. At times Alice would help them with her own earnings so they were able to make it home. Alice found the love of her life when Bert (Delbert) Kallenbach asked her to dance to the song "Melody of Love". It was forever their song. Bert was sent to the war in Korea and when he came back, he and Alice moved home. They were married June 4, 1955 and built a new home in Niagara. Alice started a job at the local Credit Union and eventually moved to the First National Bank of Niagara. She started as a bookkeeper and worked her way up to be the President of the Niagara Bank. Alice became the first woman bank president in Wisconsin and was one of four women in the USA at that time that had reached that status. Alice took great pride in her gardens and loved spending her time tending them. Sewing, Painting, cross stitching, and baking also brought her much happiness. During the summer Alice could be found camping with family and friends. While Bert was alive, they would go to different campgrounds and enjoy the outdoors. During the winter Alice and Bert could be found in New Mexico where they would spend time with their son, Gene, and his family and friends.
Alice leaves behind her Children, Lynn Marie (Michael) Stone and Gene (Sherry) Kallenbach; grandchildren, Alicia and Clint Kallenbach; great grandchildren, Dregan and Darken LaLonde; grandson-in-law, Shauwn Lalonde; brothers and sisters, William (Karen) Broullire, Marie Windell, Barbara Beauchamp, Eilene (Bruce) LaLiberty, Raymond (Barbara) Broullire, and Jerry (Paula) Broullire.
Along with her parents and Bert, Alice was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Autumn Lynn LaLonde; and two sisters, Jeanette Semintelli and Emily Zimmerman.
A visitation for Alice will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 9am-11am at Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A service will follow at 11am at the funeral home with Msgr. Joe Gouin presiding.
