Alice Lucia Ward Rawlings, 86 years old, passed away peacefully in Pensacola, Florida, on July 4th, 2024. She graduated from Pensacola High School and traveled to many places but has been a resident in Pensacola again for almost two years. Alice is predeceased by her Father, Willard Ward Sr., her Mother, Elsie Ward, and her beloved Husband, Donovan Rawlings, Sr.
Over the years, Alice has successfully worn many hats. And like many southern women, she began her adulthood as a devoted wife and a loving mother. Yet, Alice still dreamed of having a career outside of the home. To name a few of her career endeavors: she was a Nursing Home Administrator, a Real Estate Agent, and partner in a Bed & Breakfast Inn, Restaurant and Pub in Northern Virginia. Alice loved her family, decorating, entertaining, traveling, playing Scrabble, playing her great game of Golf, socializing with her friends in a golf community and socializing within her church family. Her magical smile and witty personality won over the hearts of all who knew her.
Alice has two adult children: Allison Juana Bryan Meyers (Bill) and Kimber Bannan Malyzska (Tony). Her stepchildren include: Donovan Rawlings, Jr, Sharon Rawlings Kendall, and Terri Rawlings Reece. She has many living grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister, a brother, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alice's final resting services will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 12th, 2024, at 11 am. Family viewing will be held prior to the service at 9:30 am and viewing for the public will be from 10 am to 11 am.
