Alice Nyoka Richerson, 82, of Macclenny passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. A lifelong Baker County resident, Alice was born on January 3, 1943 in Sanderson to Mr. William M. and Alice Inez (Jordan) Johnson. Ms. Alice was a longtime employee of the Northeast Florida State Hospital until her retirement. Alice loved her family and enjoyed spending her time with them, especially her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, John Lewis Johnson, Louvice Harris, Glenneice Tomko, and Penny Fredricks; her husband, Shirley Odell Richerson; and a son, David Richerson.

She is survived by her children, Romey Richerson and Mary Richerson both of Macclenny; a host of grandchildren; siblings, Aubrey (Della) Johnson of Jacksonville, Renee Hall of Glen St. Mary, Reggie Johnson of White Springs, Kevin Johnson of California, Vanda (Jeff) Railey of Macclenny, and Phyllis Brown of Orlando; as well as extended family members and friends.

A funeral service to honor Alice’s life will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Doubs officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

The staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home is honored to serve the Richerson family during their time of loss.
