Alice Faye Head Scott, age 83, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Ball and Sis. Jamie Ball officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Baker Cemetery in Hickman County. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 13,1941, in Davidson County, Alice was the daughter of the late Horace Head and the late Adenar Whittaker Head. Alice worked at Lasko Metal Products and later dedicated her career to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse and retiring from NHC Hillview. A woman of faith, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Alice found joy in taking trips to the mountains, riding motorcycles, and listening to the timeless music of George Jones, Conway Twitty, and Alan Jackson. A highlight of her life was visiting the Elvis Presley Museum, which brought her immense delight.
Above all, Alice cherished her family. She took great pride in raising her two beloved great granddaughters, Lyra Franklin and Brooklyn Eastep, who were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky Eastep, Danny Eastep, Tim Eastep, and Tony Eastep, daughters, Tina Whatley, Melissa Reed, Lisa Scott, brothers, Gary McNeil, Lynn McNeil, Michael McNeil, sisters, Carolyn Varnhill, Sandra Lorenzo, Peggy Williams, eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Scott, Jr., brothers, Danny Head, Jimmy McNeil, sister, Robbie Nance, granddaughter, Amber Whatley, grandson, Alan Carter, and son in law, Troy Whatley.
Pallbearers will be Eli Eastep, Alex Collins, Nathaniel Rittenberry, Jesse Eastep, Timothy Eastep, Daniel Eastep, Matt Bennett, and Eddie Whittaker. Jay Eastep will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and Tina Whatley for their special care and compassion for Alice during this difficult time.
