Alice Elizabeth Skipper, born on July 30, 1935, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and a resident of Granbury, Texas, was a beacon of light to all those who knew her. Known for her generous spirit and loving heart, Alice was a woman of many talents, her life a testament to her glamour and grace. Her radiant smile brought joy to every room she entered, and her unending kindness left an indelible mark on countless hearts.
Alice's life was a medley of pursuits that reflected her vibrant personality. After a rewarding career as a Senior Center Manager for Dallas County she retired at age 70. She then went on to be a Bus Monitor on the special needs' bus for the HEB Independent School District and another retirement at the age of 80. Alice's sense of adventure found expression in her love for sailing, dancing, and music. Her passion for the arts was evident in her fondness for good movies and musicals, and her competitive spirit shined through during games of bingo, dominos, and canasta. Alice's love for the Lord was as profound as her love for her family, which was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated mother, and her family was the embodiment of what mattered most to her.
Alice was the beloved daughter of the late Douglas and Gertrude Skipper. She is survived by her daughter, Tina Moore, son, Doug Okruch and wife Laura, grandchildren, Melissa Schindler and husband Jason, Allison Trader and husband Cole, Grace Okruch and Emma Okruch, great grandchildren, Olivia Schindler and Easton Schindler, and sister, Bonnie Allen, who will continue to honor her legacy by living life with the same generosity and love that Alice exemplified.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Peggy Skipper Patton and father of her children, Peter Okruch.
Alice's beautiful soul and zest for life will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
Please join us at 11am, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Acton Cemetery, and celebrate the beautiful life she led.
