Alice Powell Whitfield, age 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at NHC Healthcare Anderson.

Born September 28, 1939, in Hartwell, GA, she was a daughter of the late Henry Haley Powell and Edith Lorenza Lester Powell. She was married for 64 years to David Earl Whitfield until his death in May 2023. She was also preceded in death by brothers, James Henry Powell and Roger Dale Powell; and sister, Minnie Elizabeth Shirley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Alice was formerly an inspector for Schmidt Manufacturing for many years. Her husband Earl was her whole world, and they enjoyed traveling together. Alice had been able to visit 48 states. She loved fast cars, especially the Camaro Z28, and NASCAR. She also enjoyed quilting, country music and attending concerts.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Brooke Alewine and Janice Mattison for their exceptional care given to Mrs. Whitfield during her time at NHC.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 12:00-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Melvin Powell officiating.
