Eugenia "Jean" Drake Pickens, age 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at her home.

Born July 1, 1939, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Darby Drake and Dollie Clegg Drake. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert B. Pickens, Jr.

Jean attended the University of South Carolina and was a graduate of the Carolina School of Commerce Class of 1959. She was a member of the Anderson Junior Assembly, the Garden Trail Garden Club, and the Old Ninety-Six Scout Council. She also served on the board of the Piedmont Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for 6 years. Jean was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and her legacy of love and service will live on in those who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her son, Drake Pickens and his wife Jenny and their son, Owen Drake Pickens; granddaughter, Laurel Paige Garrabrant and her husband T.J. and their son, Benjamin Brereton; daughter-in-law, Robin Henderson Tucker. Also surviving are her dear friends and caregivers, Sallie Hays, Barbara Platt, Ruth Presley, Ann Odom, and April Mattison.

The family would like to thank her caring friends from Hospice of the Upstate, Danielle, Jessica, Rachel, Nivea, Donna, and Jan.

Following a private family graveside service the family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at The McDougald Family Center, 2303 N. Main St., Anderson, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4601 Charlotte Park Dr., Suite 130, Charlotte, NC 28217, or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
