She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ira Ray Whitfield, Jr.; daughter, Christy Watkins (James) Cumber; son, Scott (April) Whitfield, and bonus children that she loved dearly; Michelle (Glenn) Gardner, Brian (Jamie) Pope, Ray (Jessica) Whitfield, and Deanna Whitfield (Pete Tumscitz, and her brother, Marshall Lamb (Ginny). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Clements Funeral Home, 1105 Broad Street, Durham, NC. The service will be officiated by her niece, Rev. Heather Lamb Webb. A visitation will occur one (1) hour prior to the service as opportunity to pay respects to the family, share a memory and a hug.
