Michael Todd Harmon

Durham – Michael Todd Harmon, 60, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at his home. Born in Prince George's County, Maryland to the late Marvin Elwood Harmon and Betty Jo McCloud Harmon Coley. He was also preceded in death by Marvin Elwood Harmon (father) and Betty Jo McCloud Harmon Coley (mother) and Archie David Coley (step-father).
Michael never met a stranger. He was extremely kind and checked up on everyone. He made it a point to meet his neighbors and help them mow their lawn, check their mail, take their trash out, and plant them flowers. Michael would always make you laugh with his silly remarks. In his early childhood, he grew up in Maryland, moved to NC at age 7, moved back to Maryland briefly and moved to Durham in 1977 and lived here since. Mike attended Northern High School in Durham, NC. After, he went to work in road construction as a heavy equipment operator. He pursued a long time career in this. He spent 11 years caring for his mother, Betty Jo, and his step father, Dave, in their later years of life. Then, in 2017 he began a career at Harmon Plumbing Services as an Assistant Equipment Operator. During his 8 years at Harmon Plumbing, his focus served as a shop manager, dealing with organization, cleanliness, and maintenance of parts and equipment and day-to-day tasks. He was outgoing and loved pets and all people. His absence is extremely felt and we will all miss him more than words can say.
Mr. Harmon is survived by his brother Marvin Stephen Harmon and wife Karen Lyon Harmon, his nieces, Melody Marie Harmon, and Michelle Harmon Clayton and her husband Chaz Clayton, his great nieces, Gracelynn Clayton, and Syler Clayton, his great nephew Walker Clayton, and his aunt, Peggy McCloud Page, and several extended family members;
