Alice Ann Witherell, 78, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on June 10th, 2025.
Alice was born March 29th, 1947, to Robert and Frances Marie (nee Eckhoff) Garrett in Springfield, Illinois. Alice met Donald Witherell, and the two were married July 3rd, 1965, in Petersburg. Together, they raised a beautiful and loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Witherell, Sr; her children, Don (Becky) Witherell, Jr of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Kimberly White of Leesburg, Florida; grandchildren, Zach (Jennifer) Witherell and their children, Stormy, Summer, Aspen; grandsons, Spencer Shawgo, and Mason Shawgo; Aaron Witherell (Taylor)and their son, Porter; her siblings, Vern Garrett, Joan Garrett, Tom (Doris) Garrett, and Linda Livadas; and her sister-in-law, Cathy Garrett.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wallie & Frances Marie Garrett; and her siblings, Robert Garrett, John Garrett, Gene Garrett, and Emma Johnstone.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation Rites have been accorded through Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice's name to St. Paul Evangelical Free Church, 209 W. Douglas, Petersburg, Illinois 62675.
