Alicia Brogan Burgess 67 passed away peacefully at her home in Monticello, Florida, on July 18, 2025. Born in Houston Texas, on August 14, 1957, Alicia lived a life full of grace, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Alicia graduated with honors from James S. Rickards High School in Tallahassee, where she was a proud member of the Marching Band, Civinettes, and the National Honor Society. She also attended Tallahassee Community College, furthering her education and passion for learning.
For over two decades, Alicia served Florida State University with great commitment, managing the Key Bank that held the keys to the academic facilities across campus. Known for her warm spirit and welcoming nature, Alicia formed lasting friendships with colleagues and students alike.
Alicia was fiercely devoted to her family, especially her children. She dedicated much of her time and energy to supporting her daughters, Crystal, and Stefanie, especially in their love of dance. Whether raising funds or cheering them on at recitals and dance competitions, Alicia was always their biggest supporter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Burgess; daughters, Crystal Caban and Stefanie Burgess; grandchildren, Leana Caban, Aubrey Caban, Lucas Pandolfi, and Ember Gogol; and her brother, Roy Brogan Jr. Alicia was preceded in death by her father, Roy Brogan Sr.; her mother, Erma Latendre; and her sister, Valencia Geisinger.
Her legacy of kindness, encouragement, and unconditional love will live on through all who knew her.

My heartfelt condolences to the Brogan Burgess Families. It's sad to know that another classmate has left this world, but we know she is now with our Lord. Alicia was a very active member of our class of James S. Rickards High '75. Though it has been 50 years that we march across that stage we still memories of her. May God continue to comfort each of you and strengthen you alone the way through this time of deep sorrow. God bless you all.
