Mark Wayne Jerkins, 64, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on May 9, 2025, in his hometown.
Born in Tallahassee, Mark was the beloved son of Bruce & Peggy Jerkins. He graduated from Rickards High School in 1978, where he proudly played football and baseball. Mark owned and operated Maintenance Plus, for many years. He was also a talented painter, known for his meticulous work and artistic touch.
Mark had a deep love for sports. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams, Florida State University, Atlanta Braves, and Dallas Cowboys. Whether it was the beach, a river, or a lake, Mark found peace and happiness near the water. And when the music started, you could be sure he'd be the first on the dance floor, dancing like no one was watching.
He married his wife, Colleen Jerkins, in 2008, in Tallahassee. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family and fun. He loved his family very much and never missed an opportunity to speak about how proud he was of each and every one of them.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Jerkins; his children, Shelby (Matt) Ustad, Brandon (Erica) Jerkins, Chelsea (Anthony) Peters, Mikayla Jerkins, and Jacob Jerkins; his stepson Michael (KaLoni) Fox; and his cherished grandchildren: Abigail, Elijah, Noah, Isaiah, Kennedy, Cooper, Aria, Weston, Wyatt, Stella, Lucas, Xander, and Cohen. He is also survived by his sister, Angela Lynch; his niece, Monica (Blair) Bailey; great-nieces Madison, Amelia and his loving dog, Chloe.
Mark's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love for life, and unforgettable memories.
2 Timothy 4:7-- "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Abbey Funeral Home on May 16, 2025, at 11:00 am.
A small reception will directly follow for family and friends at the home of Brandon & Erica Jerkins.
The family has requested that those attending the Memorial Service/Reception wear something FSU, Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, or something from those team's color pallets in remembrance of Mark.

Mark, you will forever be missed. You were like an uncle to me and I loved you dearly. You always made me feel special when I came around. I will never forget the goofy, fun times.
