Clara Nell Crawford Phillips

Clara Nell Crawford Phillips, age 88, passed away on January 31, 2026.

She was born on April 16, 1937, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to Timothy Ivy Crawford and Nora Lee Humphrey Crawford. Clara spent her early years in Colquitt, Georgia, along with her deceased husband, James Walter Phillips. In 1967 they moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where she made her home for the remainder of her life.

Clara was a devoted member of the Christian-Nazarene faith and attended First Church of the Nazarene in Tallahassee. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided her in service to others.

She was a certified piano teacher, sharing her love of music with many students over the years. Clara was also well known for her dedication to health and fitness and was a committed gym attendee at Planet Fitness.

Professionally, Clara worked with Life of Georgia Insurance Company and later with the Department of Insurance, eventually working and retiring from the Department of Financial Services, Division of Workers' Compensation.

She is survived by her three children, Lawanna Nell Morrow, Rose Denise Bauer, and Kimberly Robin Phillips; her sister, Judy Crawford Tricquet; and her grandson, Chadwick James Bauer.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Crawford, and her sisters, Emma Jean Pritchard and Lillian Walker.

Clara will be remembered for her faith, discipline, love of music, and devotion to her family.

A memorial service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1983 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32308 on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00am.
