Alicia Figueredo

Alicia O. Figueredo, 94, of Englewood, NJ passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of
January 21, 2025. A beloved wife and mother, she is predeceased by the love of her life and husband
of 64 years, Angel M. Figueredo. She is survived by her daughters Alicia and Ana and her son
Angel.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Alicia immigrated to the United States in1961after the Cuban Revolution.
She obtained a Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and worked for many years
as a dedicated social worker at Albert Eienstein/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York.
After retiring from Albert Eienstein/Montefiore Medical Center, Alicia found the retirement pace
was not to her liking. She returned to work as a Social Worker at Mount Sinai/St. Luke's Hospital,
eventually retiring at the ripe young age of 80.
Alicia was a woman of many talents and she always placed her husband and family first. She was
an accomplished gardener, homemaker, and gourmet cook. Alicia was known to come home after
a full day's work and prepare dinner for the family in her work attire and high heel shoes.
Alicia's wake will be held at the Barrett Leber Funeral Home, 148 Dean Drive, Tenafly, New Jersey
on February 3, 2025 from 10:00AM to 12:00pm, followed by a prayer service. In lieu of flowers,
the family suggests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Alicia.
