Alida Hamilton Obituary
Known to family and friends as Jane. She was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on December 11, 1942. Jane died on December 4, 2025 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT, from complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Jane loved being a middle school teacher of reading and writing for thirty five years, having taught in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and then, at the conclusion of her teaching career, Vermont, retiring from Albert D. Lawton School in Essex Junction, VT.
Jane was a life-long Episcopalian, marrying The Rev. David Hamilton, sixty-two years ago. They were pre-deceased by a son, James McCallum Hamilton and a daughter, Suzie McCallum Johnson. Jane is survived by her husband, David, and a grand-daughter, Mia Benson McCallum of Portland, ME.
Jane loved her parish church, St. Andrews, Colchester, VT, where she served a number of times on the vestry and was Chair of their Outreach Committee. Jane's life will be celebrated at 11:00 on January 3rd, 2026, at St. Andrews Church, 1063 Prim Road, Colchester, VT.
