Allan Eggleson Obituary

Allan "Ole" W. Eggleson
Born: March 14, 1929 in Stoughton, WI
Died: October 26, 2023 in Stoughton, WI
Allan Eggleson, 94, a distinguished alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Army veteran, passed away peacefully in Stoughton, WI on October 26, 2023. His wife of 71 years, Joyce Anna Drayton, the Love of his Life, was by his side. He left a legacy as a devoted husband and a loving father, who touched the lives of many and made friends wherever he went. Born to Elmer and Anna Eggleson in Stoughton, Allan's life was marked by profound family commitment and enduring love. Allan found immense joy in cheering on his family in various sports, music, plays, and anything his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were interested in. He created unforgettable memories for his family by taking them on annual ski, lake cottage, Florida beach, and Milwaukee Summerfest trips, numerous football, basketball, and baseball games; and concerts, too many to count.
Allan and Joyce met at Lake Kegonsa in the summer of 1951, and were married Aug 31, 1952, in Sycamore, Illinois. They lived in Indianapolis, Indiana; Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Troy, Ohio; and eventually settled in Sycamore. Professionally, Allan received his master's degree in Dayton, Ohio, was a CPA and the Head of the Internal Audit Dept at Northern Illinois University. After retirement, they moved back to his hometown of Stoughton. Al and Joyce loved to travel the world and "snowbird" with local friends in Arizona. He loved joking with all people, including medical staff.
Allan's memory is cherished by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. His surviving family members include his wife, Joyce, and his four children: Teresa, Marcia (David) Eggleson-Fry, Eric (Donna), and Peter. He leaves behind seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren: Aaron (Parisa) Fry (Adelina, Kianaz); Drayton (Darcy) Eggleson (Abigail, Eleanor); Halie Fry (Eliana); Jordan Eggleson; Colin (MaryRose) Eggleson; Sophia Eggleson; and Evan Eggleson. His dedication to his children and the joy he found from them was evident to all who knew him. Beyond his professional achievements and family life, Allan enjoyed, boating, fishing, and snow skiing.
