Douglas (Doug) Jay Edwards, 82, of Simpsonville, SC passed away on February 28, 2026. He was born in Joliet, IL and lived in Rockford, IL until moving to Greenville, SC in 1980.
He was active in Boy Scouts of America and attained Eagle Scout, God and Country, and Order of the Arrow Awards. Doug was a graduate of Northern Illinois University, and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Michelin North America in 2002, and Publix Supermarkets in 2021. Doug was an active member in the Greenville Coin Club and the Parker Coin Club. Douglas loved being a handyman, auto racing, coin club, and going to the beach.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca, daughters Stephanie (Drew) Cameron, Andrea Edwards, Lisa (Kevin) Howard, and Leslie Masters; grandchildren Jake (Ellie) Howard, Madison Howard, Jack Masters, Ava Masters, and Ashford Cameron. In addition, Doug leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ward L. and Mary C. Miller Edwards, brother and sister in law; Dick & Mary Edwards, and son in law Daryl Masters.
As to his wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
Cremation Society of South Carolina Westville Funerals is honored to serve the family of Douglas Edwards.
