Allan Leroy Severin was born on May 24, 1944 in

All of Allan's schooling was in Akron with the class of 1962. He started working for Hall Grain at the age of 14 doing a variety of jobs. Allan was introduced to Wanda Ball by a friend in 1962 and they were married in 1963. Allan and Wanda enjoyed nearly 62 years of happiness and friendship. To this union two children were born, Scott Allan and Jonelle Lynn.
Allan moved the family to Anton, Colorado in 1968 where he managed the Farmers Elevator for Hall Grain until 1985. While in Anton he made many good friends and enjoyed being part of the community. After the elevator was sold he went out on his own as a Grain Broker for several years. In 1988 he again started working in Akron managing G &H Grain. He partnered with a brother to buy a small farm outside of Akron and loved spending time farming when he was not at the elevator. Allan and Wanda moved back to Akron in 1990 for him to be closer to his work and the farm. G & H Grain was eventually sold to Global Harvest where he continued to manage the operation until due to his health had to retire at the age of eighty.
Allan loved his family dearly and truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Jordan and Jaiden Severin and Trent and Chandler Dohe. He also was determined to get to know his two great granddaughters Adley and Mailey Dohe (Chandler and Callie Dohe). Allan loved following all of the activities his grandchildren were involved in, he and Wanda put many miles on vehicles following football, basketball, track, volleyball, band and choir concerts and musicals. They made many friends in the Limon area over the years while they followed their grandsons events. In 2001 Allan and Wanda welcomed a foreign exchange student from Germany into their home. They enjoyed having Fabiana Ricco for the school year and still keep in touch with her. Allan spent 4 or 5 years racing stock cars in Fort Morgan, Colorado. In later years he enjoyed watching his son Scott race and he became good friends with Tim Nolan.
