Allen Eugene Abshire Sr. age 53, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky.  Allen is the son of the late Ronnie Abshire and Brenda Chapman Bevins.  He is the husband of Jennifer Adkins Abshire.  Allen was the Chief of Police for the University of Pikeville and was baptized at the Upper Grapevine Church of Christ.  

Besides his dad Allen is proceeded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Eugene and Analou Abshire, his maternal grandparents Otto and Geraldine Chapman, his aunt Kathleen Adkins, his brother-in-law Michael Adkins and his uncle Roy Lee Chapman.

Along with his wife, Allen is survived by his father Larry Thacker, one son Allen Eugene (Alyssa) Abshire II, one sister Bridget (Aaron) McCoy, one niece, Megan (Jacob) Hylton, one great niece Addison Hylton, one great nephew Aiden Hylton, a grandchild on the way, Anthony Abshire and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday October 12, 2025, at the Upper Grapevine Church of Christ and Monday October 13, 2025, beginning at 6:00 PM with church services nightly beginning at 7:00 PM with Dewayne Abshire officiating.  Funeral services will be Tuesday October 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at the Adkins Family Cemetery, Grapevine, KY.
