Allen Clayton Jones, age 88 of Pensacola, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and family on Sunday, January 15, 2023. He is now asleep in Christ and will forever be with the Lord, his savoir.
Allen was born February 7, 1934, to John D. and Omah Jones in Hastings, West Virginia. Allen moved to Pensacola in the early 50's to work at Chemstrand as a Mechanical Engineer and where he met Margaret Mae Brown. They were married on June 16, 1956 and had their first son, Allen Jones on April 5, 1957 who passed away of cancer on October 10, 2008. His second son, Randy passed away of cancer on March 10, 2018. Allen C. Jones is survived by Margaret, his wife of 63 years, his son John, 59 and his son Matt 54. His remaining family lives in Pensacola.
Allen was a loving and devoted husband and father that guided and nurtured his entire family with support for each child's education. He and his wife, Margaret, thought only of their children in order to give them the very best education grounded in the teaching of Christ our Lord and Savior. He sent all of his children to Pensacola Christian from K through 12 and supported each son after school with college and helping each son get jobs where he worked in senior executive positions at various engineering firms. Most importantly, Allen held thousands of hours of bible teaching to his entire family and left a precious legacy of video recordings of nearly 20 years of bible classes.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 10 am CT at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, Hwy. 29, with Pastor Brian Calhoun, nephew of Allen and Margaret, and their life long family friend, Clint Morgan officiating. Pallbearers will be: Ricky Caraway, Donnie Bell, Russ Black, Gene Brown, James Brown, Brad Calhoun.
Burial will be at Ray's Chapel Baptist Church cemetery in Bogia, FL. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
Everyone will miss but have wonderful memories of the greatest dad our family could have.
