Allen Monaghan

MONTEZUMA-Allen Monaghan, age 34, of Montezuma, died Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Montezuma.

Allen was born June 14, 1991, in Ottumwa, the son of Joe and Jeslyn (Terrell) Monaghan. He grew up in Walcott and attended Davenport West High School until his family moved to Montezuma in 2009. Allen graduated from Montezuma High School in 2010. He then worked as a Large Press leader at Montezuma Manufacturing until 2021, when he went to work for DeJong Manufacturing in New Sharon as a CNC Operator. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, hiking in Colorado, riding his motorcycle, eating potato chips, his dogs and spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Iris.

Survivors include his parents: Joe and Jeslyn Monaghan of Montezuma; daughter: Iris Monaghan; brother: Bill (Whitney) Monaghan of Montezuma; nephew: Colter; niece: Lainey; grandparents: Jess and Vickie Terrell of Martinsburg and Mike and Jerrie Monaghan of Farson and aunt: Mary (Rob) Wells of Martinsburg. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents: William and Mary Sanchez, Wilson and Roberta Terrell and Eugene and Marcella Monaghan; uncle: Chris Monaghan and several other aunts and uncles.

Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney. No services are planned at this time.
