Allen Scott Willie, 81, of Syracuse, Utah passed away on December 16, 2025, at his home. Although he has struggled with dementia for several years, his health deteriorated within the last 3 months. However, his family was able to be together for Thanksgiving, and he was aware of everyone's presence.
Allen has been happily married to Helga Wille since December 19, 1964. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together last year. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 13, 1979. Allen and Helga have three children; Andrea (Daren), Kristina (Garrich) and Bettina (Roland). They have seven grandchildren; Amanda, Alexandrea, Sydney, Sadie, Gavin, Noah, and Luke, and one great grandchild, Rhett. Allen was born on August 14, 1944, in Malad, Idaho to Edna and Walter Willie. After his parents' divorce, Allen was raised by his mother and stepfather Celious Waldron. Allen had seven siblings: Alona, Walter, Francis, Jay, Robb, Lorelei, and Julie.
Allen earned a bachelor's degree in history and a minor in Anthropology at Weber State University. Allen worked at Hill Air Force Base for 36 years and after retirement continued to work at various jobs. Allen had many hobbies, but his passion was genealogy. He spent countless hours in the LDS Genealogy Library searching for names of his and Helga's ancestors. He also loved to write in his journal, which he kept for his entire life up until a year ago. He also loved to create the "Book of Remembrances" and left his children a library of them carefully crafted with photos and memorabilia of his life.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice Services (Kyle and Brandon) for their wonderful care of Allen over the last three months.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Interment will follow the services at the same location.
