We sadly announce the passing of Mrs. Allie Fyke Shamblin, 93, of Nashville.
Mrs. Allie is preceded in death by her parents, Esther Wilson & Mary Siler Wilson, and one daughter, Dianne Richardson, son-in-law, Curtis; and her siblings.
Allie never knew a stranger and she considered her work in healthcare a lifelong mission. She led a very artistic life and was very charitable with her personal time.
Allie excelled in many interests. She was an avid reader and traveled extensively. She created beautiful crochet and knitted works of art. She was a collector of many things, usually antiques, and she decorated her homes with care.
Allie was also an avid volunteer with St. Joesph's Catholic Women's Club and the Ladies of Charity for many years.
Allie was considered a Master Gardner. She never wanted to see a wasted plant. After she pruned and thinned, she would find homes for the excess so they could continue in other gardens.
In her last years she really enjoyed the sunroom overlooking the gardens; where she would watch Mass and pray her Rosary every day.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving spouse, Jerry Shamblin; four children, Mary Katherine Weaver (Don), Jim Fyke (Kathy), Mark E. Fyke, Beth Shamblin; six grandchildren, Grady, Jamie, Kristen, Chelsea, Courtney, and Mark Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
