It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Allison Elizabeth Keill, 50, of
Burlington, NC on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Allison was a woman of extraordinary grace, strength, and heart. She was selfless and giving in every sense of the word-always putting others before herself and offering love, comfort, and kindness freely to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a way of making people feel seen, cared for, and important, and her beautiful smile could light up even the darkest room.
She will be remembered for her positivity, curiosity, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Even in the face of unimaginable hardship, Allison remained inspiring, strong, thoughtful, and full of love. She met life's challenges with courage and dignity, and she taught those around her what it truly means to live with purpose, gratitude, and grace.
Above all, Allison was a devoted and wonderful mother, a loving and cherished wife, a beloved daughter and sister, and a loyal friend to so many. Her family, especially her children, were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. When cancer entered their lives, Allison chose not to let it define her. Instead, she and her family made the conscious decision to live life to its fullest, to treasure every day, and to create beautiful memories together. She understood deeply that nothing in this life is guaranteed, and because of that, she embraced each moment with love, laughter, and intention.
Born in Summit, NJ, she grew up in Westport, CT, and Brunswick County, NC. Allison was the wife of Albert Charles "Chad" Esposito, II and the daughter of James Douglas Keill and Judith Gant Keill. She graduated high school from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. Allison held a B.S. from UNC-Greensboro, and a Masters of Library Science from East Carolina University. She was a former educator, teacher, and librarian in the Alamance Burlington School System to include Williams High School and the Career & Technical Education Center in
Burlington, NC. Allison was the Director of the Curriculum Resources Center and Associate Librarian at Elon University. Allison was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
In addition to her husband and parents, survivors include her son, Edward Douglas Bryan (Eddie); her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bryan; and her son, Daniel James Bryan (Danny); stepsons, Benjamin Ryan Esposito and fiancée, Hayley Willey, and William Patrick Esposito (Patty); brother, David Keill and wife Cynthia Lynn Keill; sisters Kathleen Meyers (Katie) and husband Chip, and Melinda Keill Hughe (Mindy) and husband Edmund E. Hughes IV(Ed); and four nieces, Carolyn Meyers, Stephanie Meyers,
Mia Hughes, and Olive Hughes.
To her husband, she was so much more than a wife. She was his travel buddy, his rock, his greatest source of strength, and the love of his life. Their journey together was built on deep love, partnership, adventure, and unwavering support. Her presence was a gift, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void.
Though her time here was far too short, Allison leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, courage, and joy. She touched countless lives and will be missed more than words can ever express.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
